The Po Delta is one of the largest wetlands in Europe. It is a National Park and since 1999 UNESCO World Heritage Site. With its waterways, lagoons and beaches it is an ideal destination to spend some relaxing time by boat or by bike.

It could be a good idea to rest a couple of days and visit the the “Great River” discovering the placid waterways and the lagoons protected by thin strips of sand. In this environment live many species of resident and migratory birds easy to meet during excursions; grey and red herons, marsh hawks, knights of Italy, pink flamingos are attracting more an more fans of photography and bird watching.
Porto Barricata is a perfect starting point for a pleasant boat trip. Infact it is possible to rent boats with capacity up to 5-7 people, easy to drive along the river routes suggested by us, even for those who do not have any nautical experience. It is also possible to be accompanied by expert guides who will tell you the history and the curiosities of our territory.
In Barricata there are two equippedbeaches. The first, “Barricata island ” can be reached during the summer crossing the river by a characteristic pedestrian bridge; the other, “Conchiglie Beach”, is accessible all year round. From Barricata it is also possible to make excursions on horseback or by bike, following the banks of the river to discover the internal landscapes modified over time by the combined action of nature and man.
